Help me out, please!
Okay, My wife and I are getting this game for one sole purpose. We want to play through the entirity of the game together. No solo anything. We want to be able to level together, quest together, and do missions together. To my question.
Is that possible? Is it possible to duo through the whole game? |

Yes, you shouldn't have a problem. In the beginning area (Old Ascalon) you are limited to a max party size of 2, but that shouldn't be an issue in your case.

2 people plus henchmen would have a better chance? will need 2 copies of game as well maybe an alpha tester could fill in a bit more without violating the NDA EDIT yes you can join each other as a party if that is what you are asking i am completely PVE and time constrained so i will be using henchmen instead of picking up a party 2 live ones have a better chance than i will Last edited by Loviatar; Apr 13, 2005 at 03:53 PM // 15:53.. |

You may have problems with the 8 player missions, and even 6 player ones depending on your builds/skill. You could get to know some nice people to party up with..? I'm sure there are plenty of people on the forums who'd be able to play with you if you want.

Thanks much guys, I had gotten rather dissapointed when I saw talk about soloing all of the missions. A few solo are okay, But the majority must be co-op. Thanks again!
EDIT: The eight player missions won't be such a problem. We have friends coming over from FFXI. But, We will be starting a Guild. But, I'll get into that at a later time. Last edited by Arlin Merrick; Apr 13, 2005 at 04:09 PM // 16:09.. |

My husband and I plan to play together through the game. We played in the last BWE and had a great time.
We completed most of the quests in pre-searing together, and the only thing you have to remember is that both of you need to get the quest from the NPC in order for you both to get the reward. The first couple of times we didn't do that, but once we realized what we had to do, it was no problem. We even explored post-searing Ascalon a bit with just the two of us and didn't have any major problems finishing a couple of the early quests. We expect to need some henchmen at some point to complete some of the missions later in the game, but that's not a big deal. I'm sorry I can't tell you more about the duo experience since I haven't played all that much yet, but I can tell you that it is way better than duoing in EQ! |

Arlin Merrick, there is the Unofficial GWG Member "Phone Book." You could put your info there and also use it when the beta is running and you want to get a few people to play when it's 4 or 6 players missions. Just something to mention.

My wife and I are also teaming up, and we plan on operating a guild. You're more than happy to join us this weekend for beta if you are around so we can tackle the harder quests, and when the game goes live, to look us up whenever! We like to play together, but we also like to go it alone from time to time and work with others. Between the four of us and a couple of henchmen, hey, we can tackle this thing! Welcome. |

QUOTE] Please note the missions are MEANT for co-op play. The henchmen are filler for those that for whatever reason do not have live bodies to fill the positions. be happy to have a willing teammate |

Now, That sounds great. We won't actually be starting until the game goes live. I'll be at wal-mart when they're putting it onto the shelves. FFXI never had many husband/wife duos, but the few that we teamed with were always wonderful experiences. I'm hoping the same will go for GW, but from the replies to this thread. There are more couples teaming here. |

Well I guess we will join the crowd...lol We are also a hubby/wife team and we will jion you all also if we can. He at this time hasn't been interested in the BWEs, has tried it once and he decided to wait until release. Trying to convince him he NEEDS to play...lol
I've already started my own guild with the two of us. Would be interested in helping out and questing where I can help. This weekend I plan to restart a character at the beginning in Pre-Sear area to test out those areas. My in game name is Nerilika of Pern R/E 19 and my beginner will be Arafel Alwan W/?. |

My wife and I also play most games as a duo and we'll be getting the game when it's released. We'd very much be interested in joining a guild with other couples if possible.

me and my boyfriend (Horogan Sivoris if you're interseted lol) played through the last weekend together and although some quests WERE difficult and we had to resort to getting others in our party, there is certainly no reason why you shouldn't be able to stick together!
In fact it will probably help things out since there seem to be a few partners playing; makes it easier to fit 2's into a party than 3's lol |

ive been trying to convinve my wife to play but i have a hard time getting the notion of "time sinks" out of her head. she likes to play video games with me but i guess the whole skill-based thing in GW kind of turns her off..

My best friend and I are also buying GW mainly to duo it. We don't want to use any henchmen though so we are crafting our characters to support one another as much as possible.
Will be Warrior/Monk + Necro/Monk. Hope we can do it! |
